Greetings from Austin! This update is coming a day late (and late in the day at that) but it’s been an action packed week here in Central Texas. Mrs. ATX and I spent the weekend with family and friends in town to visit which was capped off by a Texas Longhorn win over the Vanderbilt Commodores.

On the travel and aviation front, Delta launched flights to the Middle East, Salt Lake City got multiple new lounges, and we said farewell to Hawaiian Airlines. All of that and more in the ATX Jetsetter weekly recap for the week ended November 2, 2025.
Delta is Launching Flights Between Atlanta and Riyadh
Delta Air Lines is launching its first route to the middle east with service to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The route comes after the Atlanta based carrier entered into a partnership with new Saudi Arabian start-up carrier Riyadh Air.
Given the subsidies available to carriers flying to Riyadh, it’s likely Delta will make money on this route regardless of the load factors. As Riyadh Air builds up its network, I’d expect to see onward connecting opportunities for passengers via Riyadh.

Delta Opens a Beautiful New Sky Club in Salt Lake City (SLC)
Delta Air Lines has unveiled a brand new Sky Club located in Concourse B at Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC). The new club spans 34,000 square feet and is the second largest lounge in the Delta system. This is sure to be a popular lounge for travelers as the airline continues to grow its mountain west hub.

American Express Centurion Lounge Opens in Salt Lake City (SLC)
American Express has opened its 31st Centurion Lounge at Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC). The 18,000 square foot lounge is located in Concourse B, near Gate B31, and is sure to be a popular spot for passengers passing through Salt Lake City.

Alaska and Hawaiian Receive Single Operating Certificate
While Alaska and Hawaiian Airlines will retain their respective brands , as far as the government is concerned they are officially one airline as of today. The two carriers have combined under a single operating certificate that will use the “Alaska” callsign.

Summary
Once again, apologies for the delay but I hope you enjoyed this week’s dose of travel news. As always, thank you for checking out the weekly recap for the week ended November 2, 2025!
