A week after announcing the airline’s largest winter ski schedule ever, Delta is back with more new routes this winter. Instead of snow, Delta is transporting passengers to sunny, sandy destinations with these new routes this winter.
Orlando to London-Heathrow
Starting October 26th, Delta will operate 4x weekly service between Orlando International Airport (MCO) and London’s Heathrow Airport (LHR). The Orlando route will become Delta’s only direct service from Florida to the U.K. and 8th nonstop destination from London this winter. The new route will also complement Virgin Atlantic’s existing Orlando to London Heathrow daily service giving passengers 11x weekly flights between the two cities.
The launch of the Orlando-London route will compliment Delta’s existing transatlantic service from Florida, Delta flies from Orlando to Amsterdam (AMS) and will resume seasonal service between Tampa (TPA) and Amsterdam this winter.
In announcing the new route Matteo Curcio, Delta’s Senior Vice President for Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India, had this to say:
“In partnership with Virgin Atlantic, our new route between Orlando and London seamlessly connects two diverse destinations, offering customers a wealth of experiences on both sides of the Atlantic. Floridians can explore London’s historic landmarks like Buckingham Palace and enjoy world-class dining, while Londoners can escape to the sunny beaches and world-famous attractions of Orlando.”

Ah yes, those famous Orlando beaches…
This seasonal route will operate four times weekly until Mar. 29 using an A330-900neo featuring Delta One Suites (Business Class), Delta Premium Select (Premium Economy), Delta Comfort+ (Extra Legroom Economy) and Main Cabin (Economy) cabins. Delta One customers can stretch out in a lie-flat seat and enjoy the carrier’s premium amenities while customers flying in Delta Premium Select will have more space to relax and stretch out, thanks to a wider seat, deeper recline, an adjustable footrest and leg rest.

Minneapolis Gets Service to Aruba and St. Maarten
Delta also announced today that the airline will fly it’s largest-ever winter schedule to Latin America from Minneapolis/St. Paul (MSP). This includes new service to Queen Beatrix International Airport (AUA) in Aruba and Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM) in St. Maarten.
In addition to these new routes, the airline is adding frequencies on flights from MSP to Grand Cayman (GCM) and San Juan, Puerto Rico (SJU). Grand Cayman will receive an additional frequency, bringing the total to 3x weekly. San Juan gets two more weekly nonstop flights bringing its total from MSP to 10.
With the new, expanded routes Delta will operate 126 weekly flights to 15 destinations in Latin America this winter. Both new routes to Aruba and St. Maarten will operate using Boeing 757-200 aircraft featuring First Class, Comfort+, and Main Cabin seating.
