Delta Adds Three New Routes From Austin (AUS)

Stop me if you’ve heard thus before, but Delta is expanding in Austin once again. The Atlanta based carrier has announced three new routes from the Texas capital to select leisure destinations in 2026.

Delta Adds Saturday Only Service from Austin to Three Cities

Beginning June 13, 2026, Delta will launch Saturday only service from Austin Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) to the following destinations:

  • Bozeman, Montana (BZN)
  • Kalispell, Montana (FCA)
  • Destin-Fort Walton Beach, Florida (VPS)

Like much of the airline’s growth in Austin, service will be operated by Delta’s regional partner SkyWest using Embraer E175 aircraft. SkyWest opened a crew base in Austin last year to support the expansion and Delta recently opened a mainline flight attendant base at the airport.

Delta will use Embraer E175 aircraft on the new flights, operated by Delta Connection partner SkyWest.

Amy Martin, Vice President of Network Planning at Delta, said this about the new routes:

“Delta is always looking for ways to make travel more seamless and enjoyable for our customers. These new Saturday-only nonstop routes are designed with flexibility and fun in mind, giving travelers more opportunities to explore top leisure destinations without the hassle. Whether it’s a beach trip or a mountain escape, we’re proud to offer more ways to make the most of the weekend.”

These new routes should give Delta customers in Central Texas more options to get away this summer, adding to the airline’s robust route network.

My Thoughts

While I’m more of a free agent these days, I tend to think of Delta as my primary carrier. Since I’m based in Austin it is always exciting to see the airline add more service here, though the airport is bursting at the seams and a new terminal building can’t come fast enough.

This year alone, Delta has announced new flights to Columbus (CMH), Denver (DEN), Kansas City (MCI), Miami (MIA), and Palm Springs (PSP). This is in addition to international flights to Cancun (CUN) and Cabo San Lucas (SJD) that will begin this winter.

With the new additions, Delta will operate flights to more than thirty destinations and it seems like only a matter of time before Austin becomes a full blown hub (The time being the opening of the new midfield concourse). While it is unclear where Delta’s gates will be located after opening, the airline will be fighting Southwest, the dominate carrier in Austin, for space.

Delta is going up against Southwest for the dominant position in Austin.

I say keep the new routes coming. The more direct flights we have from here, the more I can convince Mrs. ATX to jet off for a quick weekend getaway.

Summary

Delta is continuing its expansion push in Austin with the launch of three new leisure routes. The Saturday only flights are expected to launch in June 2026 and will utilize Embraer E175 aircraft operated by SkyWest. With these additions, Delta will serve more than 30 destinations from the Central Texas Airport in 2026.
