There was a wild scene in New Orleans on Thursday morning when a passenger stripped off their clothes and tried to fight a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agent.
Man Strips Down to His Boxers and Attempts to Fight TSA Agent
The incident occurred around 5:50a local time in the TSA checkpoint line at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY). According to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, a man stripped down to his boxer shorts and attempted to fight a TSA Agent causing screening to be temporarily suspended.
The man attempted to go through the screening area with his shirt off before being stopped by a TSA Agent. After an exchange of words, he puts on his shirt and then takes up a boxing stance with the officer. After stepping out of view, the man returns in only his boxer shorts and yells, hops around, and pumps his fists.
The incident lasted for two to three minutes before the man was subdued by five officers from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office. The suspect, Angel DeLeon Oswaldo, was booked and charged with disturbing the peace. Screening was halted for a short time until the incident could be resolved.

This incident comes as TSA agents are currently working without pay, and airlines are being forced to cut flights due to an air traffic controller (ATC) shortage, amid a government shutdown.
My Thoughts
New Orleans has always been known as a party city where (almost) anything goes. The airport, at 5:50 on a Thursday morning, is not one of those places. Hopefully this passenger gets the help he needs and the TSA agents at the airport receive a much deserved paycheck.
Thankfully, no one was injured in this incident. I certainly hope I don’t encounter anything like this on my trip through the airport next weekend but, it’s New Orleans so, anything can happen.
