Just over a month ago, American Airlines announced it was opening a new grab and go lounge at Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT). That lounge, Provisions by Admirals Club, is now open for business.
Provisions by Admirals Club Now Open in Charlotte
American Airlines has opened its new grab and go lounge concept in Charlotte as of August 19, 2025, just over a month after plans were announced. The new space is located in Concourse A, near Gate A1, and spans roughly 2,000 square feet. The space is open between 6:15a and 10:45p.
Spanning roughly 2,000 square feet, the new lounge space is designed for speed, simplicity and convenience. It provides Admirals Club members with quick access to fresh food and beverage options. This will allow passengers at one of American’s heavily banked hubs the ability to come and go easily during their journey.
American has been making a conscious effort to provide more premium options for its passengers and this new space is the latest in a series of improvements. Heather Garboden, American’s Chief Customer Officer, said this about the new space:
“We’re excited to open this new lounge space for our customers at CLT. Millions of customers travel through CLT on American every year and the Provisions by Admirals Club℠ lounge is focused on providing those customers with an easy and convenient solution during their travel journey.”
Entry requirements for the lounge will follow the standard Admirals Club access requirements.
Provisions by Admirals Club Amenities
Since the lounge is designed as a grab and go space, amenities are kept to a minimum with just a few seats and standing tables. Breakfast is served from 6:15a to 11:00a and all day offerings (lunch and dinner) are served from 11:00a to 10:45p.
According to American, breakfast features light bites including pastries, snack mixes, yogurt and fruit options, along with more substantial breakfast meal boxes. All day offerings feature a mix of salty snacks, sweet treats and filling meal boxes. Vegetarian options are available throughout the day and a beverage station allows for travelers to grab canned and bottled beverages to take on their trip. Coffee and tea are also available in the lounge.
While there isn’t much exciting on the food and beverage front, the lounge does have two American Airlines agents onsite that can assist guests with travel questions. This will be a nice benefit for guests in the event of IRROPS.
My Thoughts
While the food and beverage options aren’t anything crazy, United has barista made coffee in its United Club Fly grab and go lounges, it’s great to see American adding this option for Admirals Club members. I hope that this concept catches on and we see more of these lounges pop up in airports across the country.
