Hyatt Hotels Corporation announced today the opening of the new Park Hyatt London River Thames. The opening marks the debut of the Park Hyatt brand in the United Kingdom and provides visitors to London another high-end option to choose from during their visit.
The hotel is situated in the London district of Nine Elms and boasts fantastic views of the skyline. It features 203 guest rooms and is a short distance away from many of the main attractions in the British capital.
Rike Erdbrink, General Manager of the Park Hyatt London River Thames, had this to say about the property:
“This hotel embodies understated luxury, where personalized service and a warm atmosphere create a true sense of home and belonging in London. With its central location and thoughtful design, the hotel positions London in a new light, primed to accommodate discerning travelers looking for elevated experiences.”
The property’s public spaces and guest rooms have been designed to incorporate the Park Hyatt brand hallmarks as well as inspiration from the nearby River Thames. Each guest room features floor-to-ceiling windows which provide some amazing views of the river and the London skyline.
While the rooms are on the small side, which is normal for London, the windows do a great job of making the space feel more open. However, if you spring for the Presidential Suite, some of those space concerns will fade away. Just look at the views from that bathroom!
Park Hyatt London River Thames Amenities
The new property features three restaurants on site (with a 4th on the way) serving up a variety of dishes. They include:
- The Nine Elms Kitchen & Terrace, serving seasonal dishes that pay homage to London.
- The Nine Elms Bar & Lounge, featuring signature cocktails to help guests unwind.
- TAMISé Tea Lounge & Wine Library, provides an elevated experience overlooking the River Thames.
The final concept, a Cantonese restaurant, is expected to open later this year.
Outside of the food and beverage options, the property features an array of amenities including:
- A wellness floor dedicated to relaxation with six spa treatment rooms, an indoor pool, and a relaxation lounge.
- A 1,550-square-foot state-of-the-art fitness center.
- Over 14,000 square feet of meeting space, including one of the largest ballrooms in London which has the ability to host over 800 guests.
I was somewhat shocked when I saw that this property was the first Park Hyatt branded hotel in the United Kingdom. Since London is one of the iconic global cities, I just assumed that they already had a property. But, I also learned that Tokyo is missing a Park Hyatt of its own, though one is slated to open soon.
Admittedly, Park Hyatts are usually out of my price range as I tend to keep status with Marriott and Hilton via my travels and don’t have a massive stash of World of Hyatt points available. However, maybe I’ll find my way into one of them soon.
Summary
Hyatt Hotels Corporation introduced the Park Hyatt brand to the United Kingdom with the opening of the 203 room Park Hyatt London River Thames. The guest rooms have amazing views out over the city thanks to the floor-to-ceiling windows and the location is convenient to many tourist attractions and the U.S. Embassy in London.
