Back in December of 2022, Mesa Airlines announced that they would cease flying CRJ-900s for American under the American Eagle banner and shift those aircraft over to United Express. Mesa was already flying E175s under the United Express banner and this was a further continuation of that partnership as American and Mesa chose to not renew their agreement.
Mesa will start operating CRJ-900s on behalf of United Express starting on March 3rd, with operations being solely focused on the Houston-Intercontinental hub before expanding to Denver in May. The first flight CRJ-900 flight for United Express will be UA 6077 from Houston-Intercontinental to Dallas/Ft. Worth. Additional flying will begin on the dates below.

This should represent a net positive for United frequent flyers as many of these routes are currently operated with single cabin ERJ-145 and CRJ-200 aircraft.
