American Airlines has unveiled its new Admirals Club at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) which opened to passengers today. While the airline has already given us an idea of what to expect on the food and beverage front, this is the first look we’ve gotten of the new space.
First Look at the American Airlines Admirals Club Philadelphia Concourse A-West
American Airlines has two new lounges in Philadelphia with the opening of the new Admirals Club and adjacent Flagship Lounge. The new Admirals Club is the smaller of the two and spans 11,000 square feet. This will become the the primary Admirals Club at the airport for American Airlines passengers.
The Fort Worth based carrier had more than 355 peak-day departures out of PHL in 2024 to more than 120 destinations in 26 countries. The new lounge is located between Gates A15 and A16 and is open daily between 4:30a and 10:30p, covering virtually all departures from the airport.
Admirals Club guests enter via a shared reception lobby and head off to the right while Flagship Lounge guests proceed to the left. Here’s what Heather Garboden, American’s Chief Customer Officer, had to say about the new lounges:
“We are excited to welcome our customers into American’s newest preflight experience with the opening of our brand-new Flagship and Admirals Club lounges in the A-West terminal. With more than 19 million travelers passing through Philadelphia last year, our passionate team worked zealously to create a calm, comfortable sanctuary away from the terminal hustle where customers can relax, recharge and feel taken care of before their journey takes off.”
What to Expect in the New Philadelphia Admirals Club
Inside of the new Admirals Club guests will find panoramic runway views, shower rooms and a variety of seating options ranging from café chairs and bar stools to club chairs and private work pods. In many ways, the furnishings mimic what you’ll find in the Flagship Lounge next door.

According to American, high-speed Wi-Fi, ample power outlets and clearly displayed flight information screens support productivity and peace of mind for business travelers. Curated artwork adds local and cultural character, while spa-style shower suites, tranquil restrooms with high-end finishes and family-friendly spaces ensure every kind of traveler is considered. The Admirals Club also has a dedicated kids room for passengers traveling with their families.
The lounge also has a full-service bar, standard for American Airlines Admirals Clubs, serving complimentary cocktails, mocktails, beer, and wine, with premium options available for purchase.
You can find the full layout of the new Admirals Club and adjacent Flagship Lounge below.

The new lounge has access for 181 guests and will likely become the go-to lounge for passengers passing thorough Philadelphia. I’d expect that this space could become quite crowded during peak times so be prepared to wait.

Personally, I really enjoy the look of this lounge and it feels much more relaxing than the cafeteria style decor you’ll find in other lounges. I’d expect this space to become quite crowded during peak times, especially considering the state of the other two Admirals Clubs at the airport.
