There is a new Hyatt property coming to the Maldives. The company announced today that a Hyatt affiliate has entered into a management agreement with SingHaiyi for Hyatt Regency Samarafushi Maldives.
The property will be located on North Male Atoll, only 25 minutes away from Velana International Airport (MLE) in Malé by speedboat. This will mean guests can avoid the seaplane transfer between the airport and the hotel which can be delayed/cancelled due to poor weather.
The Hyatt Regency Samarafushi Maldives will be the first Hyatt Regency branded property in the remote island nation when it opens in late 2027. The all-villa resort will join Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa and Alila Kothaifaru Maldives as the third Hyatt property in the Republic of Maldives.
The resort is expected to feature 130 well-appointed beachfront, treetop, and overwater villas, all of which will be equipped with a private pool. The architectural design includes traditional Maldivian architecture with a light and natural palette. Guests will have the opportunity to choose from a variety of food and beverage options, which is good since you can’t really leave the resort, including a sunset bar, a beach club, a Japanese specialty restaurant, and an all-day-dining concept.
World of Hyatt Globalists and guests who book villas with club access can access complimentary refreshments in the Regency Club lounge. This is a fantastic benefit for elites as we found the food and beverage to be extremely expensive on our last visit to the Maldives.
According to the announcement, there will be a dedicated kid’s club, a marine and diving center, a fitness pavilion, a yoga deck, and a spa with eight dedicated treatment rooms will cater to guests of all ages and interests.
David Udell, Group President for the Asia Pacific region at Hyatt, had this to say about the upcoming property:
“We’re thrilled to collaborate with SingHaiyi to invite travelers to open their minds and hearts to new perspectives and experiences in the Maldives, one of world’s most desirable resort destinations.”
