Ultra-low-cost carrier (ULCC) Frontier Airlines has just launched a free, unlimited companion travel benefit for Frontier Miles Elite Platinum and Diamond Status members.
Frontier Launches Unlimited Companion Travel Benefit
The new offer, similar to Southwest Airlines’ Companion Pass, is the latest effort by the ULCC to poach disaffected Southwest passengers who are disgruntled by the recent changes at the carrier.
Unlike Southwest’s Companion Pass, Frontier has a much more appealing offer, allowing qualifying members the freedom to choose any friend or family member they wish to accompany them for free on any Frontier flight. The companion will be charged any applicable taxes and fees.
To take advantage of the companion travel benefit, Elite Platinum and Diamond Status members can book their travel while logged in to their Frontier Miles account on FlyFrontier.com or the Frontier mobile app. Note that companions must have their own Frontier Miles account, and their account number must be attached to the reservation during the booking process.

Frontier is Gifting Platinum Status to 100 Lucky Frontier Miles Members
To celebrate the new benefit, Frontier is offering free Platinum Status through August 31 to 100 randomly selected entrants, providing winners with unlimited companion travel through the summer travel season in addition to the many other exclusive perks Platinum Status members enjoy.

While I’ve never flown Frontier and currently have no plans to, I couldn’t resist signing up for this promotion. While the carrier doesn’t fly many routes from my home airport of Austin, it would give me an excuse to fly with the Denver based carrier.
