EVA Air announced today that it plans to begin service to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) beginning November 3, 2025. The announcement was first flagged by IshrionA on X.
While details are limited, the carrier intends to fly the route 5x weekly but, given the fact that the flights are roughly a year away from launch, schedules and aircraft type have yet to be determined. It’s likely that EVA Air will use the Boeing 777-300ER on the route due to fleet size and distance.
This is an interesting new route addition as EVA Air currently flies between its hub at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) and Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) which is a hub for United Airlines and a short distance away from DFW. EVA Air and United are both members of Star Alliance and provide plenty of connectivity on each end.
If you’re wondering why EVA Air would add flights to DFW, this is likely a defensive move as they look to deter a fast growing competitor from launching the route. Starlux Airlines is a new Taiwanese carrier that has been growing rapidly and could be eyeing a OneWorld membership (American Airlines is one of the founding members of the alliance). The lack of information in the announcement and the time before flights are scheduled to launch seem to indicate EVA Air racing to beat Starlux to the punch.
As a flyer based in Texas it is always great to see more international options, especially to Asia, and I’m excited to see EVA Air enter the Dallas Fort Worth market. The announcement by EVA Air is the latest in a long list of international route expansions at DFW and is a driving force behind the airport’s construction of a new Terminal F.
While the launch of EVA Air’s route between Taipei and Dallas is exciting, the launch date is still a long way off and we may see some changes between now and the first time an EVA Air 777 touches down at DFW.
Summary
EVA Air is launching 5x weekly flights between Taipei and Dallas Fort Worth International Airport beginning in November 2025. Details on the route are scarce but the announcement is likely defensive as the airline looks to keep a competitor at bay. It will be interesting to watch what happens between now and the scheduled launch date.

There is also a considerable Taiwanese population in DFW area, that said, i would assume even if they did, an entry of Starlux into the market would make the EVA service short-lived, given OneWorld member base in DFW. That said, it would still be the only Star Alliance carrier to over non-stop service to Asia…so there’s some hope. KE gives Skyteam base direct access.
IIRC EVA had a bus service from DFW to IAH in the past. If Starlux does enter the market even with EVA’s announcement I can see them pushing EVA out, especially if they cozy up to OneWorld more.
