An Escape Lounge is Coming to Kansas City International Airport

Travelers departing Kansas City will soon have a new lounge option. Vantage Group, the concession manager for Kansas City International Airport (MCI) announced today that they are opening an Escape Lounge at the airport.

The new lounge will be located in Concourse A North, near Gate A5. Construction of the new space is currently underway and will offer travelers a relaxing ambiance and premium food and beverage favorites. The lounge is designed to evoke a unique sense of place through design elements inspired by Kansas City’s moniker, the City of Fountains.

Vantage Group is working in collaboration with In collaboration with local partners, brands, and suppliers, featuring regional flavors and recipes for guests to enjoy. Local beverages available will include offerings from Martin City Brewing Company, Crane Brewing Company, and The Roasterie.

According to the press release, the following amenities will be available in the new lounge:

  • Chef-curated menu – breakfast, lunch, and dinner offerings that change seasonally, highlight local flavors, and accommodate all dietary requirements
  • Local wines, beer, and spirits
  • Power outlets, high-speed Wi-Fi, and up-to-date flight information
  • Digital library with more than 7,000 publications from 120-plus countries, courtesy of PressReader

Marsha Chesmore, Vantage Group’s General Manager at Kansas City International Airport, had this to say about the new lounge:

“We are pleased to partner with the Escape Lounges team to enhance the guest experience for Kansas Citians and visitors to Kansas City International Airport’s new terminal. The lounge rounds out the range of amenities, shopping, and dining options available to passengers traveling through this award-winning airport terminal.”

Once complete, the Escape Lounge will become the second lounge opened in the airport after the Delta Sky Club located in Concourse B that opened in 2023. The Escape Lounge will be the only lounge at the airport accessible to passengers regardless of their airline. The new lounge is expected to open sometime this winter.

Access to the lounge can be purchased for a fee. Complimentary access is available to American Express Centurion®, American Express Platinum®, American Express Business Platinum®, American Express Corporate Platinum®, Delta SkyMiles® Reserve* and Delta SkyMiles® Reserve Business Card* members, as well as Priority Pass and DragonPass, among more.

*Passengers must be traveling on a same-day Delta marketed or operated flight.

Kansas City opened its new, one million square foot terminal building in February 2023. The new replaced the aging three-terminal complex with a single, modern terminal and 6,000-plus space garage that will improve the traveling experience for residents and visitors.
