Delta Air Lines has officially unveiled its newest Sky Club at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL). The new lounge is located in Concourse D and is the second largest Delta Sky Club at the airport. Atlanta is Delta’s largest hub and the carrier has a whopping eight lounges at the airport.

About Delta’s Newest Sky Club in Atlanta
While Delta has a ton of lounges in Atlanta, this is the first new Sky Club to open there since 2016. The Sky Club is located near Gate D18 and has seating for more than 500 people, 506 to be exact, making it the highest capacity Sky Club in Atlanta. It spans more than 24,000 square feet, making it the second largest Sky Club at the airport.
The lounge is outfitted with a media room, sixteen seat bar, sound-proof booths for calls, two beverage stations, and a large buffet area. The Delta Sky Club in Concourse D is open between 6:00a and 10:00p daily.

According to the press release, the new lounge was designed to reflect Atlanta’s southern charm and city flair with corresponding design elements throughout. The lounge features a brick entryway and coffered ceilings that pay homage to Atlanta’s Southern architecture along with light fixtures and metal elements that reflect the bustling nature of the city.

Claude Roussel, Delta’s Vice President of Delta Sky Club and Lounge Experience, said this about the new space:
“As the heart of our operation, Atlanta is more than just a hub—it’s our home. This new space is thoughtfully designed to ensure that guests traveling through Atlanta feel the Southern hospitality of the city we know and love. The opening of our newest Delta Sky Club in Atlanta – during what happens to be both Delta and ATL’s Centennial year – is a testament to our unwavering commitment to this city and the customers we serve here.”
The lounge is designed with dark accent walls that make the space feel warm and inviting, while the floor to ceiling windows with views of the ramp provide ample light to the space. Based on the press photos, it looks like they were taken on a rainy day in Atlanta, so the space may be brighter than it appears.

My Thoughts on the New Delta Sky Club
Personally, I love the look of the new lounge. Since it’s been roughly ten years since the last Sky Club opened at the airport, the design here is far and away nicer than you’ll find in many of the older lounges. Thankfully, Delta is planning to remodel two more Sky Clubs at the airport, located in Concourses A and C, later this year.
With Atlanta being the busiest airport in the world, there is a constant stream of passengers who travel through the airport. While Atlanta itself is a large city, the vast majority of the traffic here is connecting. Thanks to Delta’s close partnership with American Express, many of those passengers have lounge access via their Delta co-branded or AmEx Platinum credit cards. This has caused issues with crowding in the past so it’s always good to see new lounges opening that provide additional capacity.
While I don’t currently have any travel planned via Atlanta, I may just have to route through on one of my future trips (Austin to New Orleans via Atlanta is totally rational right?) to check out the new space.
In addition to the new Sky Club in Concourse D and the refreshes coming to Concourses A and C, Delta has plans to expand the Sky Club network outside of Atlanta with new and expanded clubs coming to Seattle, Salt Lake City, and Philadelphia later this year.
