Delta Air Lines is cutting its route between New York and Geneva, Switzerland. The Atlanta based carrier currently operates Summer seasonal service between the two cities but the route is not returning for 2026.
Delta Cuts Service Between New York and Geneva
Delta Air Lines currently operates a daily, Summer seasonal, service between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Geneva Airport (GVA). This is Delta’s only route to the Swiss city.
The flight is currently scheduled to cease operations on October 20, 2025 and, with the Summer 2026 schedule now out, it appears that this route will not return. Delta currently uses a Boeing 767-400ER on the route, outfitted with 34 Delta One Business Class, 20 Premium Select (Premium Economy), 28 Delta Comfort, and 156 Economy seats. Flights operate on the following schedule:
Flight | Departs | Arrives |
---|---|---|
DL 100 (JFK-GVA) | 8:50p | 10:45a (+1) |
DL 99 (GVA-JFK) | 12:45p | 3:30p |

Delta is Struggling Against Star Alliance Carriers on the Route
Delta is the most dominant of the Big Three U.S. carriers in the New York area, operating hubs at both JFK and New York’s LaGuardia Airport (LGA). However, the New York-Geneva route is dominated by Star Alliance carriers.
While Delta only serves the route with seasonal service in the summer months, SWISS operates a daily flight between New York and Geneva using Airbus A330 aircraft. United also operates a daily flight between the nearby Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and Geneva using Boeing 767 aircraft.

Despite its dominant position in New York, and the presence of a stunning Delta One Lounge at JFK, Delta appears to be struggling with what to do with its JFK hub. The carrier recently announced new service from New York to Sardinia and Malta while cutting its route between New York and Brussels.
It appears that Delta cant, or won’t, compete with Lufthansa Group on flights between New York and major European business centers. Choosing instead to fly to smaller, more tourist friendly destinations.
Summary
Delta Air Lines will eliminate its seasonal service between New York and Geneva. The summer seasonal service for 2025 is scheduled to end on October 20th and, as of this writing, is not slated to return for 2026.
