The wait is finally over for Delta SkyMiles members looking to earn miles on Uber rides as the two companies have officially launched their partnership. This partnership was initially teased at CES in January, with Uber replacing Lyft as Delta’s preferred rideshare partner.

Link Your Delta and Uber Accounts
Starting this week, Delta customers can link their SkyMiles account to their Uber account using this link to start earning miles. The partnership is available for Uber and the Uber Eats app.
Delta is giving priority access to SkyMiles members who joined the Uber waitlist earlier this year, and those members can link their accounts today. Other SkyMiles members will have the ability to link accounts on April 24, 2025. Please note that this is only for U.S. based SkyMiles members.
Linking accounts is easy, just follow the steps outlined below:
- Open your Uber or Uber Eats app and tap ‘Account’
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and tap ‘Partner Rewards’ where you’ll see ‘Delta SkyMiles’ as an option – click there and you’ll be directed to a landing page to learn how to earn miles
- Tap ‘Link to start earning miles’ and you’ll be prompted to log in to your Delta SkyMiles account
- Once you’re logged in, your accounts are connected and you can start earning!
Camiel Irving, VP of Operations and GM Mobility, US&C at Uber, had this to say about the partnership:
“As 15% of all Uber trips either begin or end at an airport, we know that Uber is an integral part of the travel experience for millions of people. Partnering with Delta offers an even more connected experience for those travelers, turning their everyday moments into miles that will take them even further.”
Earning Delta SkyMiles With Uber
Once a customer’s SkyMiles and Uber accounts are linked, they can immediately start earning miles. SkyMiles Members will earn:
- 3 miles per eligible dollar spent on Uber Reserve trips
- 2 miles per eligible dollar spent on premium rides such as Uber Comfort and Uber Black
- 1 mile per eligible dollar spent on UberX rides to and from airports
- 1 mile per eligible dollar spent on $40+ restaurant and grocery orders with Uber Eats

While I don’t put a high value on Delta SkyMiles, I hardly ever used Lyft. Now, with Delta switching to Uber as its preferred rideshare partner, I’ll be switching over from earning Marriott Bonvoy points to SkyMiles. Bonvoy points are slightly more valuable to me but, the earnings are much better with the Delta partnership.
Here’s how Prashant Sharma, Vice President of Loyalty at Delta, described the partnership:
“Our new partnership with Uber not only expands the value of loyalty and makes it easier than ever for our Members to get rewarded – it also opens the door for new audiences to find reasons to love SkyMiles, no matter how often they fly.”
According to Delta, this partnership is just the beginning for the two companies. Delta is currently working on an AI powered “Delta Concierge” that will help evolve the airport experience.
For now, I’m content with earning a few SkyMiles on my Uber rides and Uber Eats orders. The AI can wait.
Summary
Delta has just launched its long awaited partnership with Uber and Uber Eats. SkyMiles members who joined the early waitlist can link their Delta SkyMiles and Uber accounts today to begin earning miles. SkyMiles members who didn’t join the waitlist will have to wait until April 24, 2025 in order to join.
