Delta and Shake Shack Expand Partnership

Delta Air Lines is expanding its partnership with Shake Shack, bringing the company’s burgers onboard as a catering option on more flights. The two companies launched the partnership in December 2024 on flights out of the carrier’s Boston hub.

As of March 2025, the Shake Shack cheeseburger is now available to First Class customers on flights over 900 miles out of Atlanta (ATL), Los Angeles (LAX), New York-LaGuardia (LGA) and Seattle (SEA).

This expansion comes after a successful trial run at Boston Logan International Airport (BOS). Stephanie Laster, Managing Director of Onboard Service for Delta, had this to say about the expanded partnership:

“Customers are raving about the Shake Shack experience onboard our flights after serving more than 10,000 burgers out of Boston since launching in December. This is part of our work to partner with brands our customers already know and love while continuing to raise the bar for the in-flight experience – whether that’s making your favorite cheeseburger available at 35,000 feet, or ensuring you have a variety of fresh meals to choose from that fuel you on your adventure.”

According to Delta, the Shake Shack cheeseburger features a 100% Angus beef patty, topped with cheese and served on a toasted potato bun. Passengers can customize their burger with toppings like tomato, lettuce and ShackSauce, all served on the side. The burger is served with chips, a Caesar salad and a dark chocolate brownie.

Delta Air Lines is partnering with Shake Shack to provide cheeseburgers as a pre-order option for passengers traveling in First Class.
First Class Delta passengers on flights over 900 miles from five hubs can preorder the Shake Shack cheeseburger.

The burger is available for pre-order only and can be selected in the Fly Delta app. As someone who loves a good cheeseburger, I’m excited to see this partnership expand. With the expansion to more hubs, I may finally have the chance to try out this offering onboard.

Call me crazy but I’m almost always willing to try out a burger at 35,000 feet. I’ve eaten burgers on many different airlines and can confidently say that it is possible to serve a solid burger in the air. It does take some effort to do so but, with Shake Shack tying its brand to this offering, I’m fairly confident it will at least be decent. Now I just need to hop onboard and try it for myself.

Summary

Delta is expanding its partnership with Shake Shack by rolling out Shake Shack cheeseburgers as a preorder option for First Class passengers on flights over 900 miles from its hubs in Atlanta (ATL), Los Angeles (LAX), New York-LaGuardia (LGA) and Seattle (SEA). Have you tried out this burger, is it worth the hype?
