The airline currently flies between Mobile and Orlando International Airport (MCO) 2x weekly using Airbus A220-300 aircraft. These flights are slated to end on January 31, 2025 and will leave the airport without any commercial service, it was previously served by Frontier Airlines and Avelo Airlines.

While the market exit by Breeze will leave Mobile International Airport without any commercial passenger service, the city and surrounding area are still served by American, Delta, and United via the nearby Mobile Regional Airport (MOB) which actually serves as the city’s primary commercial airport.

Mobile has long had a reputation for extremely high airfares given the fact that the market is dominated by the big three legacy carriers and their regional affiliates. Prices between Mobile and New Orleans were less than $80 round trip for the dates leading up to the cancellation of services at the end of January but, passengers apparently weren’t enticed enough by this to make the route stick.

The elimination of the route between Mobile and Orlando was initially reported by IshrionA on Twitter/X and, based on the comments, it appears that the airline was suffering from abysmal loads on the route. While many airlines make a killing flying to/from Florida in the winter, it seems that Mobile didn’t fit into that puzzle.

Summary

Breeze is pulling out of Mobile International Airport (BFM) as of January 31, 2025 leaving the airport without any commercial service. Mobile is still served by the big three U.S. carriers from the nearby Mobile Regional Airport (MOB).

    1. Not gonna happen for multiple reasons. One of the main ones being the carrier already flies to Mobile Regional Airport. Delta is flying 5x daily MOB-ATL on CRJs so there isn’t enough demand to warrant adding AUS, especially with the amount of service they have there at this time. MOB-ATL is a quick 1h 15m flight and from Atlanta they can get anywhere.
