American Express is preparing to open its brand new Centurion Lounge at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport (HND). The new lounge, opening July 16, 2025, marks the first Centurion Lounge in Japan and will open in the country’s busiest airport.
The Haneda location is the 30th Centurion Lounge globally and the fourth in Asia, joining lounges in Delhi (DEL), Hong Kong (HKG), and Mumbai (BOM). The new lounge is on the smaller side, spanning 7,352 square feet, and has seating for only 122 guests.

The new Centurion Lounge is located in Terminal 3, which is the international terminal at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport. Specifically, the lounge is located in the airline lounge complex near Gate 114. This space also houses the Japan Airlines Business Class lounges, Cathay Pacific Lounge, and Delta Sky Club.
The Centurion Lounge is located on the 4th floor, one level up from the concourse. The entrance is to the right of the Japan Airlines Sakura Lounge and is easily identifiable thanks to ‘The Centurion’ branding on the exterior.

American Express Centurion Lounge Tokyo Haneda Seating and Amenities
The Tokyo Centurion Lounge features locally sourced artwork and an open kitchen where guests can watch chefs cook. The lounge buffet features a variety of Japanese and Western cuisine and there is even a dedicated sweets bar which is a nod to the snack culture of Japan.

The menu has been developed in partnership with Chef Satoshi Ogino, who has run multiple Michelin-starred restaurants in Tokyo including his own Akasaka Ogino. In addition to his curated creations the lounge will also serve Japanese favorites like sushi and ramen. The full service bar will offer wine, locally inspired cocktails, and a selection of Japanese beers, sake, and shochu.

To keep the lounge peaceful, there are dedicated phone rooms for those needing to make a call and curated audio selections for meditation are also located in those spaces. Audrey Hendley, President of American Express Travel, had this to say about the new lounge:
“The Centurion Lounge at Haneda Airport celebrates Japanese culture, featuring custom artwork, an exciting menu that showcases the flavors of Tokyo, and my personal favorite – private meditation booths to help you recharge and find some calm before your flight. We’ve seen incredible demand for travel to Japan, it is one of the destinations where we’ve seen the highest growth recently. We look forward to showcasing the impeccable service Centurion Lounges are known for in a destination we know is so important to our Card Members.”
Like most Centurion Lounges, guests will have a variety of seating options to choose from, including armchairs, high tops and dining banquettes, and couches. There is also a private room for families and small groups, complete with a television.

For Centurion cardholders, a private, VIP, area is available to keep them sheltered from the hustle and bustle of the lounge. It features elevated furnishings and finishes along with a private beverage station and unique artwork. Given the crowding that this lounge is likely to experience, this is a welcome touch.

My Thoughts
Having recently experienced the nearby lounges at Tokyo Haneda Airport, the new Centurion Lounge is a welcome addition. I just missed the opening of the lounge by a few days but I did have a chance to visit the Japan Airlines Sakura Lounge, Sakura Sky Lounge, and Cathay Pacific lounge at the airport.

The new Centurion Lounge is in the same lounge stack as the ones I mentioned above and, if you’re traveling on a OneWorld Business Class ticket, this may be one of the best lounge stacks in any airport in the world.
The new Centurion Lounge also looks much nicer than the existing Priority Pass lounges in the terminal so I would expect this space to get quite crowded, especially given its size. However, given the efficiency of Japanese air travel and the fact that there is limited international connectivity at Haneda compared to Narita, you shouldn’t need to spend much time in the terminal.
The views from this lounge certainly won’t disappoint as every lounge in this area has a great view of the airfield. I was extremely impressed with the variety of aircraft and the unobstructed views available in this space.

While I wish I had the chance to visit the new Centurion Lounge at Haneda Airport during my most recent trip, this just gives me another reason to head back to Tokyo on a future trip.
Summary
American Express has opened its first lounge in Japan inside of Terminal 3 at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport. The new lounge is on the small side with seating for only 122 guests and is sure to be a popular option for travelers departing Japan’s busiest airport.
