On the same day that Delta Air Lines announced the opening of its newest Sky Club at Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC), American Express has unveiled its 31st Centurion Lounge in Utah’s largest city.
American Express Centurion Lounge Salt Lake City Overview
While we’ve known this lounge was coming for over a year, on October 28, 2025, American Express opened the doors to its brand new Centurion Lounge at Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC). The 18,000 square foot lounge is the first proprietary credit card lounge at the airport and is located in Concourse B, near Gate B31.

The lounge is open between 4:45a and 11:15p daily, covering virtually all departures from the airport. According to American Express, the design of the lounge takes inspiration from the region’s natural landscape and outdoor spirit. Guests are greeted by warm, earthy tones and open spaces that reflect the city’s surrounding mountains and open skies.
The Salt Lake City Centurion Lounge features a year-round outdoor terrace with views of the Wasatch Mountains, a ski-lodge inspired Hearth Room, a Blue Roast by American Express coffee bar, two bars and a buffet.

Audrey Hendley, President of American Express Travel, said this about the new lounge:
“With strong year-round Card Member demand for travel to Salt Lake City, expanding the Centurion Lounge network here is a natural fit. The lounge offers a refined, welcoming environment that provides eligible Card Members a premium place to relax and recharge.”
Bill Wyatt, Executive Director, Salt Lake City Department of Airports, added:
“The Centurion Lounge is a welcome addition to Salt Lake City International Airport. American Express is refining the traveler experience with elevated service, curated amenities and gourmet dining, making the journey through Salt Lake City truly exceptional.”
The lounge features a variety of amenities, including:
- Hearth Room Inspired by a Luxury Lodge Experience: A striking 360-degree fireplace encircled by plush lounge seating and a custom, locally woven art piece echoing the surrounding natural landscape creates the feeling of a premium hearth room.
- An Outdoor Terrace with Views of the Wasatch Mountains: A year-round outdoor terrace offers guests fresh mountain air and the ability to relax by a fireplace while enjoying the mountain views.
- Recovery Room for Luxurious Post-Adventure Renewal: Guests can unwind in plush loungers while enjoying the restorative benefits of wellness amenities including compression boots and massage guns, complemented by health-conscious bites for an elevated wellness experience.
- Comfortable Seating Areas for All Types of Travelers: Guests can choose from an array of seating options, including comfortable armchairs, cafe tables, dining banquettes, quiet workspaces, group seating, reservable meeting rooms, and a VIP room for Centurion Members.
- Signature Centurion Lounge Amenities: Guests will enjoy signature Centurion Lounge amenities, including premium shower suites and restrooms, private phone nooks, abundant power and USB access, and complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi.

American Express Centurion Lounge Salt Lake City Food and Beverage
On the food and beverage front, guests can enjoy a rotating selection of seasonal dishes and drinks curated by James Beard Award winning Resy chefs Kwame Onwuachi, Mashama Bailey, Mike Solomonov, and Sarah Grueneberg.
Dishes have been inspired by some of the top restaurants across the country and include Caribbean wedding soup from Chef Kwame, farro pilaf from Chef Mashama, grilled cabbage with tehina, harissa and mint from Chef Mike, Earl Grey panna cotta with gingered apple and maple oat crumble from Chef Sarah.
On the beverage front, Bar Director Harrison Ginsberg has developed a list of specialty cocktails which includes a Park City Sling cocktail featuring gin, tart cherry and lemon.

My Thoughts
This has been a big week for passengers traveling from or through Salt Lake City. The new Centurion Lounge is one of two fantastic new lounges to open in Concourse B, along with the new Delta Sky Club.
Personally I love the design of the new lounge, I especially appreciate the indoor fireplace and the year-round outdoor terrace. The space feels warm and inviting and is definitely a lounge I wouldn’t mind spending a layover in.
Unfortunately, while this looks like a very nice lounge space, I could see this becoming quite crowded. With Delta limiting American Express Platinum cardholders to a limited number of Sky Club visits each year, Centurion Lounges at Delta hubs have been overrun with passengers.
It will be interesting to see what the crowds at this lounge look like as more travelers learn of the opening and visit the space. If you’ve been to the lounge since it opened I’d be curious to hear your thoughts.
Summary
American Express has opened its 31st Centurion Lounge at Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC). The 18,000 square foot lounge is located in Concourse B, near Gate B31, and is sure to be a popular spot for passengers passing through Salt Lake City.
