American Express is set to open one of its Centurion Lounges at Boston Logan International Airport in 2027. The news, which was first reported by Thrifty Traveler, comes after Massport, the group which owns and operates the airport, voted to approve the lounge.
I’ve reached out to American Express for comment and additional details but, with the board voting to approve, this project is moving forward.
Based on preliminary reports, the lounge is expected to span roughly 20,000 square feet across two levels. This will make it one of the largest lounges in the Centurion Lounge portfolio which is good considering the chronic crowding we’ve seen recently.
The structure will be a new buildout on top of existing space at the airport and will be located next to Gate C10.The lower level is expected to house the majority of the lounge space while the upper level will have an outdoor terrace which I hope has some way to be enclosed for the winter months, similar to the Sky Deck at the Delta Sky Club at New York’s LaGuardia Airport.
The announcement of the new lounge comes one month after Delta opened one of its swanky Delta One Lounges in Boston, so we’re seeing quite the improvement in the airport’s lounge portfolio.
Centurion Lounges are some of my favorite lounges and while I don’t find myself traveling through Boston much, I’m excited that this new option is on the horizon.
