Yesterday I posted about how the American Express Centurion Lounge at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) recently failed its health inspection. The failed inspection came after two barely passing scores earlier in the year. However, as of December 18th, the lounge has received a passing grade once again.
A representative from American Express reached out and provided the following statement:
Delivering a great experience in the Centurion Lounge is our top priority. We take these inspections seriously and have taken immediate steps to address the report. The Centurion Lounge was reinspected on December 18 and has now passed the health inspection.
I assume that, based on the passing score, the health department held its requested meeting with the lounge operator prior to reinspecting.
The news of a health inspection failure at a premium lounge in a major airport like Atlanta is certainly a good way to get everyone’s attention. Now, we’ll just have to wait and see if passing grades come from subsequent inspections.
While I’m happy to see the lounge pass its most recent inspection, I’m still somewhat hesitant to visit until the results are sustained.
Summary
After receiving a failing grade on its health inspection earlier this month, the American Express Centurion Lounge in Atlanta has now received a passing score. While I’m glad to see that this issue has been resolved in the short term, I’ll be looking for sustained improvement before visiting.
Not just sustained, but sustained ratings in the 90’s v multiple low 70’s as they’ve had before the failed below 70 rating
Part of me is glad that they failed otherwise the barely passing 71 scores would have never come to light. Completely agree that we will need to see significant improvement from the lounge.
