Alaska Airlines has reopened its lounge at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ANC) after an extensive remodel. This is the only lounge in the airline’s namesake state.

The newly remodeled Alaska Airlines Lounge in Anchorage took over a year to complete and added 2,600 square feet to the space. This has more than doubled the seating capacity, expanding it from 65 to 140 guests. The lounge is open daily between 5:00a and 1:00a daily.
The expanded lounge is located in Concourse C near Gate C1. The expanded Lounge features a variety of comfy chairs and furniture, including Alaska’s lounge chairs which have views of the tarmac. Power outlets have also been placed throughout the lounge to allow guests to keep their devices charged.

The newly reopened lounge offers a daily selection of complimentary fresh, seasonal food items and premium beverages. This includes hand-crafted espresso drinks made with locally roasted beans from Kaladi Brothers, and a selection of West Coast wines, craft brews, and custom cocktails.

The Airline also indicates that the lounge will feature a rotating selection of local art. This is part of Alaska’s effort to make each lounge reflect “the unique character of its city.” Marilyn Romano, Regional Vice President of Alaska for Alaska Airlines, had this to say about the lounge:
“We’re proud to offer our guests a space that feels both modern and deeply connected to Alaska’s rich culture that celebrates the state’s landscape and heritage. This year, thanks to the Alaska Native Heritage Center, we’ll feature a carefully curated collection representing the five major cultural regions of Alaska. We hope our guests visiting the Anchorage Lounge feel a true sense of place as they recharge.”

Alaska Airlines has been investing heavily in its lounges in recent years and the Anchorage lounge is no different. The airline has opened a new lounge in San Francisco (SFO) and, after its acquisition of Hawaiian Airlines, is opening a new premium lounge in Honolulu (HNL).
Its been years since I’ve visited Alaska but I have enjoyed my flights on Alaska Airlines. I’m always looking for an excuse to travel, and I have a grad school friend in Alaska, so maybe I’ll have a reason to visit this lounge soon.
