Alaska Airlines is continuing to bolster its presence on the West Coast. The Seattle based carrier is adding seven new routes this fall that will connect California with the Pacific Northwest.

New Routes Connecting California and the Pacific Northwest
Starting in October, Alaska Airlines will launch seven new routes connecting California with the Pacific Northwest. Five of these routes will operate with daily service year round. The remaining two will operate only for the winter season on a less than daily basis.
Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR) is the big winner here with three new routes to destinations in Oregon and Washington. Boise (BOI) gets service to a fourth Los Angeles area airport with the launch of service to Ontario (ONT) while Spokane (GEG) gets a link to Orange County (SNA) which is currently the largest unserved destination from the Eastern Washington airport.
For the winter season, Santa Rosa (STS) gets its eighth destination on Alaska, with service to Palm Springs (PSP). Alaska is the largest carrier at both airports. Finally San Diego (SAN) gets service to Sun Valley, Idaho (SUN) for the winter ski season. With the addition of this route, Alaska and Hawaiian combined will serve 45 destinations from San Diego this winter.

Kirsten Armine, Vice President of Revenue Management and Network Planning at Alaska Airlines, had this to say about the new routes:
“We’re the only global airline based on the West Coast, and we’re proud to offer the most flights and seats between California, Washington and Oregon. These new additions further expand our ability to take our guests between growing markets in California and the Pacific Northwest for leisure and business travel.”
Alaska Airlines will deploy the Embraer E175 on these routes, operated by regional partners SkyWest and Horizon Air. Alaska’s E175s are outfitted in a three cabin configuration with 12 First Class, 16 Premium Class, and 48 Economy seats. Routes will launch and operate on the following schedule:

---|---|---|---|
BUR-EUG (Eugene) | 10/26/2025 | Year Round | Daily |

To Kirsten Armine, Vice President of Revenue Management and Network Planning at Alaska Airlines
Alaska Airline is not what I think of as a “GLOBAL AIRLINE.” A US domestic airline, yes, but NOT a “GLOBAL AIRLINE”
That is likely in reference to the fact that they are launching Transpacific and Transatlantic flights using Hawaiian Airlines aircraft post-merger.
Though I had the same reaction when I read that.
