Act Fast: Chase Sapphire Preferred 100,000 Point Welcome Offer

The popular Chase Sapphire Preferred credit card is offering its biggest welcome bonus ever! The little brother of the Chase Sapphire Reserve credit card is currently offering new cardholders 100,000 bonus points when spending $5,000 in the first three months of account opening.

Chase is offering a 100k point welcome bonus on its Chase Sapphire Preferred cards after spending $5,000 in three months.

Chase is Offering the Most Bonus Points Ever on its Chase Sapphire Preferred Card

While the Chase Sapphire Preferred doesn’t come with the airline lounge access and travel credit you’ll find with the Chase Sapphire Reserve, it also doesn’t come with a large annual fee.

The Chase Sapphire Preferred has a $95 annual fee but still unlocks the Chase Ultimate Rewards travel portal. If you maximize your rewards, the welcome bonus alone could be enough for a round-trip ticket to Europe in Business Class. Mrs. ATX and I used our Chase Ultimate Rewards points last year to fly Business Class between New York and Prague, via Zurich, on SWISS.

In addition to the welcome bonus offsetting multiple years of annual fees, the Chase Sapphire Preferred has many perks of its own. Cardholders can earn 5x points on flights, hotels and car rentals booked through Chase Travel, 2x points on all other travel purchases, 3x points on dining, and a DoorDash Dash Pass subscription along with other bonus categories.

Unfortunately, since Mrs. ATX and I are both Chase Sapphire Preferred cardholders we can’t take advantage of this offer but I would if I could.

American Express Loyalists Should Look into the Chase Sapphire Preferred

It’s no secret that I love my American Express cards for their earning potential and perks, like access to American Express Centurion Lounges. However, I still love having this Chase card in my wallet.

Unfortunately many places, especially overseas, don’t accept American Express. Given the low annual fee, versatility of Chase Ultimate Rewards points, and lack of a foreign transaction fee, this is a great backup card to have in your wallet. This is especially true with the current welcome offer.

While American Express cards are loved by frequent flyers, they aren’t accepted everywhere.

Summary

Chase is currently offering its best welcome bonus ever on the Chase Sapphire Preferred card. With a $95 annual fee and the ability to earn 100,000 bonus points after spending $5,000 in the first three months of account opening, this is a card most frequent travelers should look at adding to their wallet.
