Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced that it is preparing to bring its Park Hyatt brand to Vancouver in 2026.
Shangri-La Vancouver is Becoming a Park Hyatt
The upcoming Park Hyatt Vancouver will occupy the former Shangri-La Vancouver hotel. The 119 room property is currently operating as the Hyatt Vancouver Downtown Alberni before it undergoes a multi-million dollar redesign to the guest rooms, lobby, public spaces, and spa to bring it in line with Park Hyatt brand standards.

Scott Richer, Vice President of Development and Owner Relations in Canada for Hyatt, said this about the upcoming remodel and rebrand:
“Reimagining this iconic luxury hotel will enable Hyatt to thoughtfully expand our luxury portfolio in Canada. We’re excited for our plan to introduce the Park Hyatt brand to Vancouver in 2026, once we further elevate the hotel with refined design and signature experiences for our guests and World of Hyatt members. Together with Park Hyatt Toronto, the future Park Hyatt Vancouver will strengthen Hyatt’s luxury brand presence in Canada’s top urban markets and will offer the most discerning travelers a personalized experience in an intimate and enriching setting.”
The property is located in the tallest building in the city, at 1128 West Georgia Street in Downtown Vancouver, and is the fifth hotel under the World of Hyatt umbrella in British Columbia.

No date has been given for the official re-opening and rebrand of the property but rooms under the Hyatt brand are currently available for booking via the property’s website.
