While Hawaiian Airlines officially merged with Alaska Airlines last year, and the two carriers launched a combined rewards program earlier this year, today marks the end of an era as the carrier’s final flight under the “Hawaiian” callsign is currently underway.
Hawaiian Airlines is Transitioning to the Alaska Airlines Callsign and ICAO Identifier
While Alaska Airlines has announced its intention to retain the Hawaiian Airlines brand, the airline is transitioning over to the Alaska Airlines “Alaska” callsign and AS ICAO identifier as of October 29, 2025.

The move comes as the Hawaiian Airlines fleet transitions over to the Alaska Airlines operating certificate. This is no doubt a bittersweet day for the aviation community, especially those with ties to Hawaii, as the familiar sign is retired. It will be odd seeing a flight operating between Honolulu and Maui operating under an Alaska Airlines callsign.
The Final Hawaiian Airlines Flight
The final flight to carry the Hawaiian Airlines callsign and flight number is currently en route to Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) in Honolulu from Pago Pago International Airport (PPG) in American Samoa.
Flight HA866, operated by an eleven year old Airbus A330-200 with the registration N370HA, is scheduled to arrive in Honolulu at 5:40a local time. At that point the Hawaiian callsign and ICAO code will be officially retired. At the time of publication, the flight is currently the most tracked aircraft in the world according to FlightRadar24.

While the carrier did serve Austin for a time after the pandemic, I never had the opportunity to fly with Hawaiian. Though I’ll still have the opportunity to fly on Hawaiian branded aircraft, it will officially be an Alaska Airlines flight from this point forward.
I’m curious, did any of you have a chance to fly on a Hawaiian Airlines flight?
Summary
Hawaiian Airlines’ final flight under the “Hawaiian” callsign is currently en route to Honolulu. Once that flight arrives the carrier will officially transition all flights to the “Alaska” callsign and “AS” ICAO code, marking the end of operations for Hawaiian, though the brand will continue under the Alaska banner.
