A couple of months ago, a day after Delta unveiled its newest Sky Club at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), The Points Guy reported that Delta is planning to open one of its exclusive Delta One lounges at the airport. Now, we have an update on where the lounge will be located and when it will open.

Atlanta Will Get a Standalone Delta One Lounge in Concourse E
Claude Roussel, Delta’s Vice President of Delta Sky Club and Lounge Experience, confirmed to The Points Guy that the carrier is planning a new Delta One Lounge in Atlanta in the coming years.
Atlanta is Delta’s largest hub, and the busiest airport in the world, so it makes sense that the airline would eventually put a Delta One Lounge here. Though Atlanta is the busiest, given the entry requirements for Delta One Lounges, the carrier has focused on its international gateways first; opening lounges in Boston, Los Angeles, and New York. A fourth Delta One Lounge is under construction in Seattle and will open later this year.

According to xJonNYC, the new lounge will be located in Concourse E which, along with Concourse F, is where the majority of Delta and its SkyTeam partners operate their international flights from.
Opening of DL D1 lounge at ATL not currently scheduled till 2028, SLC, DTW and MSP still no date as of now However I believe that D1 dedicated check-in for all hubs supposed to be open by end of this year.

The new lounge is expected to open in 2028 though it is unclear whether the airline will take over a new space or renovate existing lounge space in Concourse E.
What Hubs Don’t Have Delta One Lounges
With the news that Atlanta will get a Delta One lounge in 2028, that leaves Detroit (DTW), Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP), and Salt Lake City (SLC) as the only hubs that don’t have an opening date.
Detroit seems like a no brainer to eventually get a Delta One lounge, given the amount of transpacific flying Delta does from the airport. While I wouldn’t think that MSP and SLC see enough international, premium heavy, service to warrant a standalone lounge, The Points Guy indicated that Delta plans to open a Delta One lounge in Salt Lake City and will likely expand to its other hubs.
Finally, New York’s LaGuardia Airport won’t be getting the Delta One treatment. Due to the perimeter rule at LGA, Delta only operates shorter flights from LaGuardia that don’t feature Delta One. The airline did just open a massive new Sky Club at LGA which I had the chance to visit last year.

Summary
Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) is getting a Delta One Lounge. Details are still scarce but it appears that the space will be located in Concourse E and will open in 2028. Delta is reportedly planning to open Delta One lounges at all hubs, aside from New York-LGA, in the future though Seattle is the only one with a confirmed timeline.
