Air France just opened its newest lounge at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The lounge is located in the Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT) near the airline’s departure gates. The new lounge promises a “calm and cozy space is ideal for relaxing, having a bite to eat and enjoying the French travel experience offered by Air France.”
The lounge was designed by Air France teams together with the agency in partnership with SGK Brandimage. The lounge features various seating spaces that should meet the needs of all travelers. The entire space features the airline’s signature colors with shades of blue, white and touches of red. The lounge has furnishings by famous French designers such as the Ester chairs by Patrick Jouin, the Ribbon armchairs by Pierre Paulin, the coffee table by Charlotte Perriand and lighting creations by Margaux Keller.
Air France Lounge Los Angeles Entry Requirements and Location
The new lounge is located in the Midfield Concourse of the TBIT and caters to passengers flying in La Première (Air France’s version of First Class) and Business Class. In addition, Flying Blue Elite Plus customers and eligible customers of KLM and SkyTeam partner airlines are welcome in the lounge.
The lounge has seating for 172 guests spread across approximately 12,000 square feet of space. The lounge is open from 9:00a to 11:30p daily covering all of the airline’s flights from LAX. The final flight, to Papeete (PPT) departs 40 minutes after the lounge closes.
While other Air France lounges, including New York-JFK allow Priority Pass access during slower periods, this lounge will not have
Air France Lounge Los Angeles (LAX) Food and Beverage
One of my favorite things about flying Air France, aside from the addictive cheese crackers, is the champagne selection. The new lounge is no different and the bar has a wide variety of French wines and champagnes along with spirits and local beers. Cocktails and mocktails are available from the bartender.
The dining area is the heart of the lounge and features individual seating, a large communal table, and private alcoves. The airline’s press release promises that the food offerings will evolve throughout the day and include Monkfish Provencale, Beef Bourguignon, braised chicken, and more. The menu is described as “inviting you to discover the gourmet flavors of France.” The lounge also has a chef’s station that can prepare dishes on demand such as pan-fried prawns or cassoulet with duck confit.
Clarins Spa Treatment Area
Air France has once again engaged longtime partner Clarins in the opening of their new lounge. In September 2024 the Clarins Spa Treatment Area will open offering a choice of three free facial treatments: “anti jetlag”, “instant detox” and “illuminating eye-care”. Passengers flying in La Première has a “de-stress” treatment designed exclusively for them.
Once opened, the spa treatment area will be open between 11:00a and 8:30p daily. Reservations for the spa treatment spaces can be booked at the lounge check-in desk.
Private Spaces for Elite Guests
While the lounge itself looks fantastic, passengers flying in La Première or Flying Blue Ultimate passengers have special, private seating areas in the lounge.
The La Première section of the lounge has great views of the runway and it can seat twelve guests. Air France offers three daily flights between Los Angeles and Paris featuring La Première for a maximum of 12 daily passengers so there will always be a seat. The space has plenty of seating to go along with the views and its own dining area.
Flying Blue Ultimate passengers also get their own space in the lounge, a small room with a few armchairs.
Additional Amenities
Away from the hustle and bustle of the main lounge is a space dedicated to relaxation and rest. There’s also a work area with large armchairs, and a closed-off booth for making calls to provide some privacy and not interrupt other guests in the lounge.
The lounge also has free Wi-Fi and numerous electric and USB sockets near the seats, which is a must in any lounge nowadays. Shower cubicles are available throughout the day to freshen up before your flight. The traditional magazine rack is gone and, in its place, digital press is available on the Air France Play app.
Summary
The new Air France Lounge in Los Angeles looks like a fantastic space and it is conveniently located near the departure gates for the airline’s flights to Paris (CDG) and Papeete (PPT). The new lounge has private spaces for La Première passengers and Flying Blue Ultimate frequent flyers with french-inspired touches scattered throughout. It’ll be a great place for Air France, KLM, and other SkyTeam passengers with access to relax before their flight.
