Delta Air Lines has announced they are adding flights between Austin and Augusta Regional Airport (AGS) for the Masters Tournament. The Austin flights are part of a broader Delta schedule increase for the tournament that includes additional flights to Atlanta (ATL), New York-LaGuardia (LGA), Detroit (DTW), Boston (BOS), Washington-National (DCA), New York-JFK (JFK), Orlando (MCO), and Palm Beach (PBI).
While Atlanta, New York-LaGuardia, Detroit, and Boston will all run daily or multiple times a day between April 7-15th, the remaining destinations will operate 1x daily on April 10th and April 15th.
The flights to/from Austin will be operated by Delta Connection partner Endeavor Air with a CRJ-900 aircraft featuring First Class, Comfort+, and Economy.
The flights will operate with the following schedule:
April 10th (AUS-AGS): DL 5532 Departs: 10:35a Arrives: 2:05p
April 15th (AGS-AUS): DL 5040 Departs: 1:59p Arrives: 3:59p
Tickets are currently on sale and start at $671 for Basic Economy, $741 for Economy, $961 for Comfort+, and $3060 for First Class. While pricing is steep, currently the Economy pricing for the direct flight is half of what a connecting itinerary through Atlanta would cost.
It is exciting to see Delta continue to invest in the Austin market and build a stronger presence here. The airline most recently was the official airline of SXSW and has added non-hub flights to Midland, McAllen, Nashville, Orlando, and Las Vegas from Austin.
If only I had better luck in the Masters ticket lottery this year maybe I’d be onboard. Are you interested in flying Delta’s new service to get to the Masters Tournament?
