The Caymanian flag carrier will operate weekly service between the two airport for the summer travel season. Specifically, the airline will operate Sunday-only service between May 24 and August 16, 2026. Cayman Airways will use its Boeing 737 MAX-8 aircraft on the route, The schedule for the 1,268 mile route will be revealed when flights go on sale on January 30, 2026.

The route is designed to capture strong summer demand from the fast-growing Austin region while eliminating the need for connections through major U.S. hubs. Cayman Airways and the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism say Austin has shown steady growth in visitor arrivals to the islands despite the lack of nonstop service.

Paul Tibbetts, Executive Vice President for Commercial Affairs and Chief Financial Officer for Cayman Airways, said this about the new route:

“Austin has emerged as a strong and growing source market for the Cayman Islands, with steady increases in visitor arrivals over recent years, despite the absence of nonstop flights. Data analysis conducted in collaboration with the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism identified Austin as one of the largest unserved U.S. markets for Cayman travel, with particularly strong demand during the summer period, and we’re excited to be the first airline to blaze this new trail for the Cayman Islands.”

The introduction of service to the Cayman Islands is the latest expansion from Austin’s primary airport and is evidence of continued demand growth in Central Texas.
