JetBlue announced today that it is opening its first ever lounge next week at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). The new lounge will span 9,000 square feet and is spread across two floors.
JetBlue Opens BlueHouse Lounge at JFK Terminal 5
While we have known for some time that JetBlue was planning to open lounges, we now have the opening date as well as more information on the New York based carrier’s first ever lounge.
BlueHouse, JetBlue’s first ever airport lounge, will open to guests on December 18, 2025 at 5:00a local time. The new lounge is a signature component of the airline’s JetForward strategy which is intended to deliver more premium, customer-centric experiences. According to the airline, the lounge has been designed as an extension of home, infused with New York City energy, and powered by thoughtful technological touches.
As I mentioned above, the new lounge will span 9,000 square feet spread across two levels at JFK’s Terminal 5. JetBlue plans to restrict access to its highest tier elites and transatlantic Business Class passengers in an effort to keep crowding to a minimum. Marty St. George, President of JetBlue, said this about the new space:
“BlueHouse helps make our flagship terminal feel more like home. It’s warm, comfortable, and elevated in a way that’s distinctly JetBlue, with the hospitality and thoughtful amenities our customers have been asking for. As our first lounge, it represents an exciting milestone in our JetForward journey as we focus on bringing affordable, premium experiences from the aircraft to the airport.”
JetBlue BlueHouse Entry Requirements
Access to BlueHouse will be limited to JetBlue’s most loyal customers and premium cabin passengers. Access to JetBlue’s lounges will be reserved primarily for Mosaic members, transatlantic Mint customers and JetBlue Premier World Elite Mastercard holders.
Mosaic 4 members will have complimentary access and can bring one guest for free. Each additional guest will cost $39. Premier cardmembers follow the same entry requirements while transatlantic Mint customers receive complimentary access but do not receive a complimentary guest. Transatlantic Mint customers can bring guests by paying the $39 guest fee.

When discussing the entry requirements Ed Pouthier, Vice President of Loyalty and Personalization at JetBlue, said this:
“BlueHouse is one of the most significant enhancements we’ve ever made to our loyalty program. Our Mosaic members and Premier Cardmembers already enjoy elevated benefits every time they fly, but BlueHouse introduces a new level of recognition for those who choose to fly us again and again.”
Beginning in February 2026, likely coinciding with the opening of a BlueHouse lounge in Boston, limited access passes will be made available for purchase to the following customers:
- Mosaic 1 – 3 Members
- JetBlue Plus and Business Cardmembers
- Non-transatlantic Mint Customers
- Annual BlueHouse Members
JetBlue BlueHouse Lounge Layout and Amenities
Covering two levels in JFK’s Terminal 5, the BlueHouse lounge is intended to mimic a classic New York City apartment. Decorative molding, brass accents, and a lobby-style entry set the tone for a residential-inspired space that is warm and personal.
Local art curated by Statement Of and a standout mural created by Artists for Humanity make an effort to capture the cultural spirit of the Empire State. The mural’s constellations of JetBlue destinations pay homage to the iconic celestial ceiling of Grand Central Terminal.
The lounge features a mix of open social areas and quiet spaces allowing guests to pick the environment that works best for them. The space is outfitted with high speed wi-fi and power outlets at almost every seat. It also has dedicated quiet zones for rest and relaxation.

For those looking for a little more action, the lounge has a game room that is outfitted with JetBlue-branded cards, chess, checkers, and children’s toys along with a photo booth that allows guests to take a souvenir from their travels.
JetBlue BlueHouse Lounge Food and Beverage
On the food and beverage front, JetBlue has partnered with a variety of local companies including The Greats of Craft, Please Don’t Tell (PDT), and Joe Coffee. Food will be prepared fresh daily by Union Square Events and will include items like:
- Morning favorites like bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches with New York cheddar
- Afternoon selections such as pastrami on rye or chicken Caesar wraps
- Fresh grab-and-go options
Currently, all of the food options are expected to be of the grab and go variety.
On the beverage front, guests can choose from craft beers, signature cocktails, artisan wines, barista-made espresso drinks, and specialty teas from Dona and Steven Smith Teamaker.

My Thoughts
While I have only seen photos of the new lounge, the space certainly looks impressive. At 9,000 square feet and with the airline significantly limiting access to the lounge, this should be a great space for passengers to relax before their flight. This is especially true given the current lounge state at JFK’s Terminal 5.
While I don’t have plans to fly JetBlue anytime soon (living in Austin significantly limits the airline’s value proposition for me) this is a lounge that I would love to visit should the opportunity present itself.
I’ll be curious to hear firsthand feedback from travelers after the lounge opens next week, though I know a few travel bloggers have already had the chance to take a sneak peek at the space.
