Greetings from Austin! I’ve finally wrapped up an insane month of travel and now I get to spend a few weekends at home. We had Mrs. ATX’s family in town for the weekend and we were spending time with them, which is why the recap is a day late.

Two Delta Aircraft Collide on Taxiway at New York’s LaGuardia Airport
Two Delta aircraft collided while taxiing at New York’s LaGuardia Airport on October 1, 2025. Both aircraft were CRJ-900 regional jets operated by Endeavor Air. Fortunately, there was only one injury amongst the 93 passengers and crew onboard both planes.
American Express Unveils Platinum Card Changes
American Express recently announced changes to its popular Platinum Card. While the card’s annual fee has increased to a staggering $895, the increase in benefits should be more than enough to justify the increase for most cardholders. Plus, there’s a cool mirrored finish option available now and mine is already in the mail!
British Airways is Launching Flights to St. Louis (STL)
British Airways is launching 4x weekly flights between London and St. Louis for the summer travel season. The flights will launch on April 19, 2026 using Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. Flights will operate on Sundays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
Royal Jordanian is Offering an Amazing Status Match Opportunity
Royal Jordanian has expanded its status match program to allow for participation by residents of the United States. While this is a paid match, I’m leaning towards doing it as it provides OneWorld Sapphire status for a period of 12 months. Are any of you considering participating?
Review: Delta Airbus A321 First Class (ATL-AUS)
Delta offers a remarkably consistent product in its domestic First Class cabin. While new seats are slowly being rolled out, the current seats are still comfortable and the seatback IFE and free gate-to-gate Wi-Fi makes for a comfortable, productive flight on the Airbus A321-200.
