Royal Jordanian, the flag carrier of Jordan, is offering a fantastic status match promotion. While this is a paid match, and has been around for quite a while, it is finally open to residents of the United States.
Royal Jordanian Offering Match to OneWorld Sapphire Status
Royal Jordanian, and its Royal Club rewards program, has partnered with StatusMatch.com to offer travelers the opportunity to match their status to Silver Jay status (OneWorld Ruby) or Gold Sparrow status (OneWorld Sapphire). Both of these are paid matches, though there is a solid value proposition here for travelers in the United States.

As I mentioned in the introduction, this status match has finally opened up to travelers from the United States. Those looking to take advantage of this promotion must have valid documentation showing that they are residents of one of the following countries:
- Austria
- Bahrain
- Belgium
- Canada
- Cyprus
- Denmark
- Egypt
- France
- Germany
- Iraq
- Italy
- Jordan
- Kuwait
- Lebanon
- Netherlands
- Oman
- Portugal
- Saudi Arabia
- Spain
- Sweden
- Switzerland
- Syria
- Turkey
- United Arab Emirates
- United Kingdom
- United States of America
While I don’t have any plans to fly Royal Jordanian anytime soon, though they are preparing to launch service to Texas, this is still a status match opportunity that I’m excited about. Passengers holding OneWorld Sapphire status with a non-U.S. carrier can access American Airlines Admirals Clubs and Flagship Lounges even when traveling on domestic itineraries.

Royal Jordanian is offering the match to Silver Jay status for $49 and Gold Sparrow for $149. The application shouldn’t take much time to complete and, once your documentation is validated, the matched status will be valid for twelve months.
There is currently no end date on this match offer but it could get pulled at any time. So, if you’re interested in thus opportunity, you may want to act fast.
