Fairfield by Marriott Upgrades its Branding in China

Drawing inspiration from its origins at Fairfield Farm in Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains, the new design pays homage to warm, heartfelt hospitality while catering to evolving business and leisure travel needs. The upgrades focus on three central spaces, The Fairfield Living Room, The Fairfield Restaurant, and Guest Rooms, delivering a balance of comfort, function, and efficiency.

Gavin Yu, Chief Development Officer for Greater China at Marriott International, said this about the changes:

“Since debuting in China eight years ago, Fairfield by Marriott has been widely recognized for delivering a simple, comfortable guest experience and sustainable investment returns—establishing itself as one of Marriott International’s key growth engines in the market. This product upgrade enhances the brand’s competitiveness in the select service segment, while the new Chinese name reflects Marriott’s systematic empowerment. We remain committed to expanding Fairfield by Marriott’s footprint across more destinations favored by travelers.”

Public areas now feature multifunctional, manor-inspired designs with natural wood tones, cozy fireplaces, curated artwork, and flexible gathering spaces. Guestrooms have been reimagined with intuitive layouts, modern bathrooms, and thoughtful work-focused details such as ergonomic seating, wireless charging, and optional adjustable desks.

Beyond design, Fairfield by Marriott has infused small but memorable touches that highlight its heritage, like Blue Ridge inspired aromas and welcome baskets filled with regional treats. These details reinforce the brand’s commitment to heartfelt hospitality while keeping pace with modern travel trends.

The update includes a new Chinese name under the Marriott master brand, along with redesigned spaces and enhanced guest experiences built around the brand’s core philosophy, The Beauty of Simplicity.

Summary

Fairfield, one of Marriott’s fastest-growing select service brands in Greater China, continues to expand across key destinations and this refresh is set to further strengthen its appeal among both business and leisure travelers.
