Greetings from Cedar Creek Reservoir! For the second weekend in a row we’re out at the lake, this time visiting with our family from Louisiana. The weather is gorgeous and the lake is calling so I’ll make this one quick, the weekly recap for May 17, 2025 is below!

United Unveils its New Polaris Business Class
United Airlines has officially unveiled its new interior design which will be outfitted on all of the carrier’s outstanding Boeing 787 orders. The new interiors feature eight new, ultra-premium, Polaris Studio Business Class seats which come with extra amenities both in the air and on the ground.
At a whopping 99 premium seats, 64 Business Class and 35 Premium Economy seats, this will be the airline’s most premium configuration to date and I can’t wait for the opportunity to hop onboard.

American Airlines is Using New Technology to Help Passengers Make Connections
With the busy summer travel season right around the corner, American Airlines is rolling out new technology that will work to lower misconnects for passengers at the carrier’s hub airports. The technology went into effect at the airline’s DFW hub today and will soon be expanded to Charlotte. All hubs are expected to have the technology by the end of the summer.

Delta Updates, and Complicates, its Product Offerings
Delta Air Lines has announced changes to its fare buckets that will offer passengers more choices when booking, though it isn’t necessarily for the best. The airline is moving from six unique offerings to eleven and will likely roll out more Basic options in the future. What are your thoughts about the new product offerings?

Spirit Airlines Adds Extra Legroom Seats
Spirit Airlines is adding extra legroom seats to its Go Comfy fare bundle. The carrier plans to install a whopping 42 of these seats on its existing aircraft and will remove a row of seats in order t0 do do.
In addition to the added legroom, the carrier is also making changes to its Free Spirit loyalty program which will provide added benefits for the carrier’s most frequent flyers as it looks to return to profitability.

Review: Air Astana Airbus A321neo Economy
While there were a couple of small quirks with the service flow and the ground experience in Dubai, I found Air Astana to have one of the best Economy products I’ve ever flown on a narrowbody aircraft. Hot towels, full meal, amenity kit, and baby items are unheard of on most Economy flights in the United States.
I can see why the carrier has won SKYTRAX awards as one of the best airlines in Central Asia for more than 10 years and I would gladly fly with them again when visiting the region.

Summary
We’re on lake time this weekend so I tried to keep this short and sweet. Hope you enjoyed the weekly recap for May 17, 2025!
