Hyatt Hotels Corporation announced the opening of the Andaz Miami Beach earlier this week. The 287 room property is the first Andaz branded hotel in Florida and the first opening since the formation of the Hyatt Lifestyle Group.
The First Andaz Opens in Florida
The new Andaz Miami Beach may be in a familiar location for some Hyatt travelers as the property was formerly known as The Confidante Miami Beach. The Confidante closed in March 2024 and underwent a year long renovation before reopening this week under the Andaz flag.
The property is located close to the hustle and bustle of South Beach, though it is somewhat removed from the chaos and is tucked away on Mid-Beach. The property is located on Collins Avenue near the intersection with 41st Street, a block from the bridge connecting Mid-Beach to Bayshore.
Amar Lalvani, President & Creative Director of the Lifestyle Group at Hyatt, had this to say about the opening of the new property:

Andaz Miami Beach Guest Rooms
The property features 287 guestrooms which includes 64 spacious suites. This is a reduction in keys from when the property was The Confidante, which had 339 rooms. This should translate to larger rooms and more upgrade opportunities for guests.
Regardless of where your room is located, the property promises that each room has views of the ocean or the Miami skyline.
Andaz Miami Beach Food & Beverage
The new Andaz Miami Beach has partnered with Chef José Andrés and the José Andrés Group on three new dining concepts at the property. Aguasal and Bar Centro are currently open for guests and the hotel expects the highly anticipated The Bazaar by José Andrés to debut later this year.
Andaz Miami Beach Amenities
In addition to the three José Andrés restaurants, the Andaz Miami Beach has two heated outdoor pools with private cabanas, Ondara Spa, and a members’ beach club. The pools are currently open while the spa, and beach club will welcome guests in the coming months. A white sand beach is located directly behind the hotel, making it an easy trip for guests looking to have some fun in the sun.
My Thoughts
While Andaz hotels weren’t previously on my radar, it quickly became one of my favorite brands after a fantastic stay at the Andaz Prague. I’m always excited to see new Andaz properties open and this looks like a fantastic option for World of Hyatt members in the Miami area. This is certainly a property that will be on my radar should my travels take me to South Florida.

The first Andaz property in the State of Florida is now open in Miami. The Andaz Miami Beach, which was formerly known as The Confidante Miami Beach, has reopened after a year-long renovation. Some of the amenities aren’t yet open to the public but are expected to come online in the coming months.
