Frontier Miles Elite Gold Status Offer

Frontier Airlines has launched a status promotion for Southwest Rapid Rewards members and, to participate, you don’t even need to board a flight. The Denver based ultra-low-cost carrier (ULCC) is offering Frontier Elite Gold status for just $40. This isn’t a status match as you only need a Rapid Rewards number in order to qualify.

To register for the promotion you first need to create a free Frontier Miles account and get a member number. From there, all you need to do is visit the carrier’s website and enter your name, email address associated with your Frontier Miles account, and Rapid Rewards and Frontier Miles membership numbers. The new status should post to your Frontier Miles account within 24-48 hours.

The terms and conditions of this offer are relatively straightforward and include the following:

  • Participants must have a valid Rapid Rewards membership with a join date prior to April 16, 2025.
  • If approved, Frontier Miles Elite Gold status is valid through December 31, 2025.
  • Frontier Miles members who have previously done a status match are eligible for this offer.

Frontier Miles Elite Gold Perks

Frontier Miles Elite Gold is the second tier of the carrier’s rewards program, ahead of Elite Silver and behind Elite Diamond and Platinum.

Elite Gold members receive: a free carry-on bag for themselves (but not everyone on the reservation), complimentary upgrades to Upfront Plus seating if available four hours prior to departure, a free seat assignment at booking, including access to preferred seats, and priority ground services including Group 2 boarding.

While these parks aren’t stellar, you also don’t have to do much to earn them. Since this is a paid status promotion it won’t be for everyone but, if you have plans to fly Frontier this year it is likely worth it since it will offset seat and bag fees.

Personally, since I’ve never flown Frontier, I don’t have any plans to participate in this status match. However, I’m sure many will as disgruntled Southwest flyers stop showing love and leave for other carriers.

Summary

ULCC Frontier Airlines is targeting Southwest Rapid Rewards members with a paid status promotion. Unlike other promotional status offers, this one requires no flying. All you have to do is pay Frontier $40 and you’ll earn Frontier Miles Elite Gold status for the remainder of 2025.
