The new hotel is nestled in the surreal, moon-like terrain of Cappadocia, near the town of Göreme, close to the region’s top attractions. Guests can visit Göreme National Park, explore ancient underground cities, and see area’s iconic hot air balloon launches during their visit. Personally, I’ve never been to the area but the terrain looks absolutely wild.

The Cappadocia Marriott Hotel was designed to showcase the region’s unique landscape. The building features locally sourced natural stone and colors reflective of Cappadocia’s terrain. Handmade art pieces by local artisans, including a special collection from Venessa Ceramics, can be found throughout the property.

Sandra Schulze-Potgieter, Vice President, Premium & Select Brands, Europe, Middle East & Africa at Marriott International, had this to say about the new property:

“We are thrilled to introduce the first Marriott Hotel in Cappadocia, a sought-after destination, renowned for its unique beauty and cultural significance. This property not only marks our debut in Cappadocia, but also underscores Marriott International’s ongoing commitment to the Turkish market. ”

The hotel has 298 guest rooms and suites which include modern amenities like complimentary Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, and air conditioning. Guests staying in M Club rooms or suites will have access to the property’s club lounge which is open 24/7.

Cappadocia Marriott Hotel Amenities

While the rooms appear to be your fairly standard Marriott rooms, the list of the amenities at this hotel is quite long. Some of this is likely due to the fact the property caters mostly to leisure travelers and is slightly off the beaten path and away from the city.

There are three food and beverage outlets located on property:

  • The Fairy Flame Restaurant: Serving authentic Turkish cuisine, such as Testi Kebab, Çömlek Beans and Milk Soup.
  • Sapore Restaurant: Offers guests a taste of Italy, which is a unique offering in the region.
  • Pool Bar: Casual dining with bar-style favorites.

While I haven’t been to Turkey (or Türkiye as it is now known) yet, it’s on my travel itinerary for 2025. My trip is only taking me to Istanbul but, thanks to the opening of this new property, I’ve found a new area that I need to explore on a future trip.
