United is Launching Flights Between Denver and Rome in 2025

A few months ago, United announced the largest international route expansion in its history and, now, the carrier is adding another with flights between Denver International Airport (DEN) and Leonardo da Vinci Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO).

While this route didn’t receive the same fanfare as the expansion earlier this year, it marks continued growth for the carrier’s hub in Denver as United and its Star Alliance partners continue to add international capacity.

The new route will operate daily for the summer season between May 1, 2025 and September 25, 2025. The 5,576 mile route is currently on sale and is blocked at 10h 30m eastbound and 11h 25m westbound. Flights will operate on the following schedule:

Denver (DEN) to Rome (FCO)
UA177 Departs: 5:50p Arrives: 12:20p (+1)

Rome (FCO) to Denver (DEN)
UA178 Departs: 2:20p Arrives: 5:45p

United plans to operate a Boeing 787-9 on the route outfitted with 48 Polaris Business Class seats, 21 Premium Plus Premium Economy seats, 39 extra legroom Economy seats, and 149 Economy seats.

Though it wasn’t called out in the initial expansion back in October, I’m not surprised to see United adding more international routes from Denver. The carrier has been investing heavily in its Mountain West hub, opening new gates, new and remodeled United Clubs, and the first United Club Fly grab and go lounge concept in the network. With seemingly limitless area for expansion, I’d expect them to continue growing in Denver.

Summary

United is launching daily flights between Denver and Rome this summer as the carrier continues to expand its international route network. The new route will operate between May 1 and September 25, 2025 using Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
