LOT Polish Airlines is Opening a Lounge at Chicago-O’Hare (ORD)

LOT Polish Airlines is preparing to open a Business Class lounge at Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD). The new lounge is scheduled to open for business on December 19, 2025 and is located in Terminal 5, the main international terminal at the airport.

This will be the fourth lounge in Terminal 5, joining the Delta Sky Club, Scandinavian Airlines Lounge, and Swissport Lounge (which Ben from OMAAT has dubbed the worst lounge in the United States).

Chicago is a major hub for United and is served my many of its Star Alliance partners, the majority of which operate out of Terminal 5. Historically, premium passengers on Star Alliance flights have been sent to the Scandinavian Airlines lounge but, with Scandinavian Airlines joining SkyTeam, that option isn’t on the table any longer. Because of that, I would expect the LOT Polish Business Class lounge to take over that role.

The LOT Polish Business Lounge is located near the food court, just past security in Terminal 5. According to the airline, the new lounge will have a designated relaxation zone, workspaces, and access to bathrooms and showers. You will find a spacious relaxation area and a wide range of amenities waiting for you. A selection of local and Polish dishes, as well as a variety of beverages will be available for passengers.

The lounge will measure just under 7,000 square feet and have seating for 165 passengers. The large, floor to ceiling, glass windows in the lounge should make it nice and bright with great views of the airfield.

The airline notes that the lounge is intended for passengers who are departing Chicago on flights operated by one of the Star Alliance airline or other partner airlines that LOT has agreements with, as well as for passengers who have purchased and hold a valid access to the lounge (Priority Pass?).

The lounge looks like a nice space from the renderings but I’d imagine it’ll see some crowding given its size. LOT operates three flights a day from Chicago plus the additional traffic from other airlines might make it busy at times.

The full list of entry requirements can be found here.

Summary

LOT Polish Airlines is opening its first lounge outside of Poland at Chicago O’Hare International Airport. It will become the 4th lounge in Terminal 5 and likely the primary lounge for premium passengers traveling on Star Alliance flights. This is a welcome addition to the lounge offerings in Terminal 5.
