Hyatt Hotels Corporation announced the opening of the new Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Resort today. The property, formerly known as Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Gainey Ranch, was rebranded under the Grand Hyatt flag after an extensive $115 million renovation. The opening marks the introduction of the Grand Hyatt brand to Arizona.
The newly redesigned resort takes cues from the American Southwest and features six different dining concepts in partnership with Chef Richard Blais. The property also has expanded its pool and cabana offerings, spa, and meeting space. Ripton Melhado, Senior Vice President of Field Operations at Hyatt, had this to say about the opening of the remodeled property:
“We are thrilled to unveil Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Resort, marking a significant milestone as the first Grand Hyatt in Arizona and elevating our presence in this dynamic market. As a cornerstone of our expanding Grand Hyatt portfolio, this resort will deliver the brand’s signature blend of sophisticated luxury and bold experiences, while authentically capturing the spirit and distinctive character of the American Southwest.”
The upgraded property features 496 guest accommodations, including 18 casitas and the two-story Gainey House, which features a private entrance and driveway, private patio and barbeque area, and views of the property’s pool.
Every guest room on property features a living space, spa-inspired bathroom, and a private balcony or patio. The casitas are great for larger groups and offer separate living spaces for entertaining and gathering along with a kitchenette and dual bathrooms. All of the casitas feature views of the resort’s pool and golf course.
Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Resort Amenities
In addition to guest room upgrades, the new property features a slew of upgraded amenities. Four new dining and beverage options – La Zozzona (Modern Italian Chophouse), Tiki Taka (global small plates), Mesa Centrale (Southwestern grill), and Grand Vista Lounge (lobby bar) have been added alongside two new poolside offerings – Sandbar and H2Oasis.
The pool complex appears to be the most impressive part of the upgraded property and spans 2.5 acres. The space features 10 unique swimming pools along with a sand beach as well as multiple, upgraded cabanas.
In the middle of the pool complex, guests will find a three-story, high-speed waterslide. Guests looking for something more relaxing can utilize the whirlpool spa and beachside putting green.
The property also features an upgraded spa, Avania, with new treatments that include cryo sculpt facials, CBD trigger point therapy massage and more. These are in addition to the standard spa services you’ll find at Grand Hyatt properties. The spa also offers a Himalayan Salt Room and state-of-the-art exercise facilities.
For those looking to get out and get active, hotel guests have access to 27 holes of championship golf at the adjacent Gainey Ranch Golf Club. Two lighted tennis courts and eight pickleball courts round out the sporting amenities at the hotel.
The new property is currently accepting reservations and more information about the available amenities can be found on the hotel’s website.
Summary
The first Grand Hyatt property in the State of Arizona is open for business. The new property was formerly known as Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Gainey Ranch but, after a $115 million renovation, the property is now under the Grand Hyatt flag. While I’ve never visited Scottsdale, the photos from this property look amazing and I’ll have to consider it if I make the trip out west.
