New York Hilton Midtown Offers Guests a Wicked New Suite Option

Hilton Hotels announced a Wicked suite option coming to the New York Hilton Midtown. The New York Hilton Midtown unveiled an all-new ‘Stay Like’ Wicked suite inspired by characters Elphaba and Glinda from the Universal Pictures film adaptation of the famous Broadway play.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen a hotel unveil over the top themed rooms and Hilton invites guests to experience the magic of Oz between November 21, 2024 and January 5, 2025. This timing aligns with the November 22 release of the new film.

Each element of the suite invites guests to take a journey down the famed yellow brick road. The entrance to the suite is clearly marked with Emerald City-inspired wallpaper and a custom door. You certainly won’t miss your room if you’re staying in this suite as the entryway is over the top.

The emerald green themes carry over into the living room, designed after the Wizard’s Throne Room and the Land of Oz.

The living room also features a small bar with a yellow brick road pattern on the carpet, leading into the bedroom.

While greens and golds are present from the entrance to the living room, the bedroom features a stark contrast with one side being hot pink and the other continuing with deep green colors, Glenda and Elphaba’s sides respectively.

According to Hilton, “Glinda’s side is a perfectly pink wonderland with custom wallpaper featuring a design straight from the movie and a cherry blossom tree canopy.” Elphaba’s side is inspired by “Shiz University’s enchanted forest, positively green and moody, with tree branches twisting around the headboard and piles of enchantment books.”

Chris Silcock, President of Global Brands and Commercial Services at Hilton, had this to say about the Wicked themed suite:

“We look forward to welcoming fans to the Land of Oz in our ‘Stay Like’ Wicked suite, where they can fully immerse themselves in the powerful story of Universal Pictures’ Wicked.”

According to the press release, guests staying in the Wicked Suite at the New York Hilton Midtown will have additional perks and experiences as part of their stay. Guests can experience the following:

  • A hidden beverage bar can pop up behind a custom-built bookshelf inspired by the Wizard’s Throne Room and Shiz University.
  • A bespoke in-room happy hour, complete with signature green and pink cocktails inspired by Elphaba and Glinda.
  • For breakfast, guests can look forward to a special delivery from a mystical floating balloon, filled with breakfast pastries and other delights.

Guests staying in the suite will also depart with some Wicked themed goodies including a backpack from Béis, Beekman 1802 pampering products, and OPI nail polish. Guests will also receive tickets to the film from Fandango.

While I can appreciate the amount of work that goes into a room like this, a themed hotel room isn’t something I’d be willing to pay a premium for. However, there are plenty of Wicked fans and I’m sure that this room will be sold out for the short duration of the promotion. If you’re interested in staying in this suite, book your stay here. There are a few nights still available though they’re selling for over $1,400 per night.

Summary

The Hilton New York Midtown has unveiled a new Wicked inspired suite in partnership with Universal Pictures. The suite is only available for booking for a limited time and nights are going fast. While its not my cup of tea, this could make for a very unique experience for fans of the movie.
